The objective of this project was to address the issue of furniture waste by exploring sustainable furniture design methods that utilize CNC routing technology to fabricate furniture with plywood.
I designed and created three pieces of furniture—a chair, side table, and magazine rack—that can be cut and assembled from one 4’x8’ sheet of ¾-inch plywood.
The Sustainable Cut is a magazine I wrote and designed that documents the furniture I created and the design process of using CNC technology.
The project was featured in the 2023 Art & Design Senior Exhibition at the University of New Haven's Seton Gallery.
